Human Remains Detection, Tracking / Trailing
Cate Jaus is a dog trainer and experienced Search and Rescue (SAR) K9 handler with over a decade of hands-on expertise. Her professional journey began at just 15 years old, when she accepted her very first dog training client. By 18, she had officially launched her own training business—laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong career dedicated to the partnership between humans and dogs.
For the past 12 years, Cate has specialized in training a wide range of dogs, including family companions, service and therapy dogs, personal protection dogs, and highly skilled working K9s. Her approach combines technical precision with a deep respect for the individual needs of both dog and handler.
Cate has also served as a SAR K9 handler for 10 years, deploying with dogs trained in human remains detection, trailing, and evidence recovery. Through countless hours of training, fieldwork, and deployments, she has developed a strong reputation for reliability, commitment, and compassion in the demanding world of search and rescue.
Guided by a mission to bring out the very best in every dog she works with, Cate continues to blend her passion for training with her dedication to service—helping families, communities, and agencies through her expertise in canine behavior and working dog development.
