Human Remains Detection, Trailing, and Area Search
I’ve served in Search and Rescue with a specialized focus on K9 operations, leading certified canine teams across Human Remains Detection, Trailing, and Area Search. My work is rooted in precision, trust, and tenacity—qualities that have guided me through high-stakes missions. Operating primarily in Southern Missouri and Texas, I combine tactical expertise with deep compassion to support families and communities in times of crisis.
My connection to canine training began long before my professional career. I’ve been training my own personal dogs since early childhood, developing a strong foundation in obedience and communication that continues to shape my approach today. That lifelong bond has evolved into a career defined by operational readiness, empathy, and impact. In addition to SAR deployments,
I actively train alongside local law enforcement agencies, including police and sheriff departments, to enhance capabilities in tracking, narcotics detection, and apprehension, on a weekly basis. These collaborations ensure our dogs are prepared for multidisciplinary scenarios and contribute meaningfully to public safety. My commitment to canine work also includes service dog training.
I had the honor of preparing a dog for Tyler Vargas-Andrews, a disabled veteran who lost his leg and arm in Afghanistan. The dog was trained to assist with mobility tasks such as opening and closing doors, retrieving items, and providing daily support—an experience that reinforced the life-changing potential of well-trained dogs. For me, K9 Search and Rescue is more than a profession—it’s a calling. The dogs I work with are not only partners in the field but the heartbeat of every mission.
